Giving at St Columba
We use giving numbers to help us keep a good track of giving here at St Columba, to keep your details confidential, and so we can make sure it is all allocated to your end-of-year giving statement. We can only issue Tax deductible statements if you use a Giving Number.
Please note only NZ based giving towards St Columba based projects and funds are eligible for IRD tax rebate on donations.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV) says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
Here’s how you can give
1. Auto Payment and Internet Banking
To set up your automatic payment for regular giving, or to make St Columba a saved payee in your internet banking, our account details are:
- St Columba at Botany
- Acct: 12-3056-0806840-00
- Code: your giving number
- Reference: Only enter this for one-off payments to a specific fund
e.g. Christmas Offering.
2. CASH on Sunday
To give with cash (or cheque), bring it with you on Sunday and pop it in the offering baskets as they go past you during our services.
- If you have a giving number, put your offering in an envelope clearly marked with your giving number. Please ask at the office if you would like us to provide a numbered set for you.
- If you are giving to a specific fund, write this on the envelope as well
e.g. Christmas Offering
3. EFTPOS
You are welcome to use our EFTPOS facility any time you are at St Columba. It is on the desk at reception.
- Swipe your card or insert it if it has a chip
- Enter the dollar amount including decimal places
- Press the green arrow on the bottom Right of the machine
- Choose your account: 1-checquing or 2-Savings
- Enter your PIN and press the green arrow button
- Keep one receipt for your records and press YES to print a copy
- Write your giving number on the back of the copy and put in the box marked "EFTPOS Receipts" on the reception desk.
4. ONLINE Giving using Tithe.ly
Use tithe.ly giving to make an immediate online gift from your phone or computer. This allows you to make a payment online at any time from your Debit Card or Credit Card. You don't need to create an account or enter any bank details but as for most online transactions, it does deduct a processing fee ($0.30 plus 2.9% per transaction). You can opt to cover the processing fee if you wish.
