Where Life and Faith Meet

To the onlookers - you've got mail!

Dear friend,

So you've come to watch the greatest show on earth? There's nothing quite like an execution to attract public interest. The media comes out in full and the crowd follows like puppets on a string. The politicians and social activists whip up the crowd; a feeding frenzy on their own agendas.

But what about you? Who are you in the crowd of onlookers?

Are you just going along with the sway of popular opinion?
Are you playing "Simon says"?
Are you seizing the opportunity to get yourself off the hook?
Are you going to join the mockers who use cheep wine and words to disguise their own lostness?
Or will you fall to your knees and acknowledge me as the Son of God?

My cross is a spectacle in the midst of world history, but I plead with you, don't remain a spectator.

My cross calls for a decision. Either I am who I am or not! You can reject me as a mad man or religious fanatic or you can worship me as Saviour and Lord. There is no middle ground. You can't look on as a passive observer.

So tonight as you watch the evening news and recall the events of "Good Friday" ask yourself this one question.

Who was I in the crowd today?

I did it for you.
With all my life and love,

Jesus
