To the broken - you've got mail!

Dear friend,

Why do you keep on doing the same thing day in and day out, month after month and year after year without any sign of the healing you so long for?

Every day you say, "Today is going to be different", but by the time evening comes, you run through a litany of excuses of why you didn't, don't, won't and can't.

It didn't happen today because you weren't in the right place at the right time or because other people got in first, pushed ahead of you or didn't lend you a hand. Your "lucky break" didn't come through today. There's always an excuse and it's always some one else's fault.

Life's not a lotto ticket hoping that one day your number will be drawn. You're not a victim of the roll of the balls. You can be healed. You can be made whole.

Today can be different but do you really want to be well?

Will you hear my voice over the sound of the rut you've been living in, even the familiarity of brokenness and pain?

Will you hear my voice over your well-worn excuses and self-justifications?

Today, if you hear my voice, do not harden your heart towards me. Choose whom you will listen to, the voice of fate or the call of grace. There's a huge difference!

Get up. Leave your excuses behind and start really living.
