Have you seen our new Information & Opportunities brochure? You'll find in it all kinds of ways to become part of the St Columba community. Copies are available here or from reception.

People meeting people meeting God

This is why St Columba exists as a Church community – to meet God together, to help others to meet God, and to show God’s grace and mercy to one another.

We think that God Himself is a big believer in relationships! In the Bible, God is referred to as our Father¹ and as our Friend², and when the Apostle Paul talks about the Church, he describes it as the “Body of Christ”³ – suggesting that each of us has a particular part to play within the Church community and that we all need one another to function healthily.

Finding your fit at St Columba

Sometimes, its easy to get lost in the crowd – particularly in a large church, where it can seem that everyone already knows each other. It can be hard to see where you fit in.

But, at St Columba, we believe that every person who walks through our doors is known and valuable to God, and worth us getting to know too.

There’s no pressure – you might be in a season of your life where coming along to one of our weekly services is enough for you. Or perhaps you want to get involved in one of our Home Groups or Interest Groups. You may even want to volunteer to help with some of our programmes.

We also have special events and programmes that cater specifically to Children and Families, Youth, Over 60’s, Women and Men. Check out what’s going on and come along – everyone is welcome!

Meet some people

We know that meeting people at church involves more than turning around and talking to the person next to you for a minute at the Sunday service.

You can come to the "Newcomers morning tea" in the cafe after the 10.30 service or attend one of our Newcomers evenings. These are wonderful opportunities to meet some people who have been around a while, as well as some other people who are just finding their feet too.

Get connected

Please introduce yourself to Shirley Becroft, our pastoral care leader, if she doesn't introduce herself to you first! Shirley will be more than happy to give you information about what's going on at St Columba and point you in the right direction of ways that you can get connected here.

This brochure lets you know of the many Interest & Opportunity Groups we have available at St Columba.

Alternatively, check out In our community and News and think about how you might find your fit at St Columba.

Talk to Andrew

Andrew Norton, our senior minister, would love to help you make St Columba your church home. He normally hangs around in the foyer after the Sunday morning services and would be delighted to meet you. Alternatively, you can contact him: andrew.norton@stcolumba.org.nz
