WASSUP - Saving Christmas
The fist Christmas tree went up in our local supermarket last week.
There should be a law against it, Christmas starting before the end of October!
If you can't beat 'em ...
This year I've decided to launch my own pre-emptive Christmas strike.
This year I'm launching an official campaign "Saving Christmas"
- Humility - the way of wisdom (Nov 18th)
- Simplicity - the answer to complexity (Nov 25th)
- Hospitality - the cure for loneliness (Dec 2nd)
- Generosity - the gift that never ends (Dec 9th)
If you would like to join me in Saving Christmas 2007 come along to St Columba and sign up to humility, simplicity, hospitality and generosity.

INSIGHT OUT - Drinking from the wrong fountain
Has a nation ever changed its gods?
(Yet they are not gods at all.)
But my people have exchanged their Glory
for worthless idols.Be appalled at this, O heavens,
and shudder with great horror,"
declares the LORD."My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.Jeremiah 2:11-13
OUTSIGHT IN - Organization, the fine art of manipulation
Because it is so hard to change yourself, the focus moves to changing others.
It's called organization.
Go here, go there, do this, do that
The key is to keep control and order at all times and in all circumstance without ever disclosing the chaos within.
It takes many years of practice and once mastered you are no longer aware that you are doing it.
Organization - the fine art of manipulation.
There must be a better way ...
SEE YA SUNDAY - "From goodness to greatness" at 8.30 & 10.30am
There are moments in life when you get a sneak preview through a window of greatness.
Spine tingling moments when you are aware of a presence greater than yourself.
When you find yourself in some kind of cosmic drama in which you understand your significance and insignificance at the same time.
When you have been in touch with the breath of God.
In these moments take off your shoes because you are standing on holy ground.
This Sunday we'll explore the significance of these moments and how they can open up to us a life beyond our wildest dreams. What about you, will you make the transition from goodness to greatness?
Canvas this week with comedian Dave Wiggins - 4 Nov 07 at 6.30pm. Admission by Donation.
Potluck dinner - bring food to share.
Faith at the Pub - Celsius Bar Botany from 7pm. Guest Speaker - Mr John Fellet, CEO Sky Television
Can't wait ... see ya Sunday

LAST WORD - A creative mind
The uncreative mind can spot the wrong answers, but it takes a creative mind to spot the wrong questions.
