My name is Noel and I am ...

19 October 2006

WASSUP - My name is Noel and I am .

I lost one of my 4U subscribers this week. My friend, Noel died. 4U was like a weekly life-line as he journeyed through his struggles in life. 4U followed him around the world and gave hope to others he shared it with. If I had only written for Noel it has been worth every hour I've spent at this keyboard. The words of 4U gave him a language to search the depths of his soul, permission to own his pain and a place of hope where he could find faith in a God who loved him no matter what.

INSIGHT OUT - When the only way to look is up

The splendour of the mountains forces me to remember that God is THE creator.

And that He, the creator of the universe is always on my side.

Human helpers may tire and get burnt out but God is ever alert to the needs of all people. He never takes a break.

He strengthens my resolve; He shields me from harm in the world and protects me from the demons within.

He sustains me in conflict and He tempers the extremes of the situations I get myself into.

This Lord protects my inmost being from evil assault.

Wherever I go, whatever I do He promises to be with me. He will be there at the very end...and beyond.

God your loving care never ends.

Psalm 121 - Paraphrase - Margaret Dewse

OUTSIGHT IN - Innovation

When was the last time you had an original new idea?

  1. Turn problems or obstacles into solutions and opportunities.
  2. Find out what the rules are and break them.
  3. Give the idea legs. You will need some kind of system or organization for your idea to grow legs. If you haven't got this you will need to create one or run the risk of being legless!
  4. Feed new ideas with passion. Where is the passion for this idea?
  5. Who's in? Does anyone want to run with me on this? If not, it could be a very long and lonely walk. Are you prepared for that?
  6. Factor in failure.
  7. Gain maximum leverage. What other problems or opportunities could this idea be applied to?

SEE YA SUNDAY - Going somewhere

This Sunday morning 8.30am & 10.30am - Going somewhere Part 2 - A vision of God
Over the next weeks we will be working our way through a number of the Psalms of ascent.
These Psalms tell the story of a journey of change and transformation. But that's not the point. It's about being on the way!
This week - when you are in a tough place, where are your eyes looking? Look up!

Bread & Wine - 9.45am - Weekly Communion

Thanks for this time to chat.

It's free but don't steal

If this is of help to others, you are welcome to forward it. This e-mail letter is 97% original - 3% cut and paste & 100% fat free. 4U is copyright to Andrew Norton. That means you can't cut and paste it and call it your own (that's stealing). I'm happy for it to be used but please refer to the author.

LAST WORD - Listening

Half an hour's listening is essential except when you are very busy. Then a full hour is needed.
