Our Iceberg is melting

12 October 2006

WASSUP - Just a minute

A quick catch up with you this week as I catch my breath.

I hate to think that you were just sitting there waiting for my email that never came.

INSIGHT OUT - When my only prayer is "Help!"

When troubles threaten to overwhelm
I cry out to God
You always come through

God be with me in this place.

I'm surrounded by lies
Blatant lies White lies Half truths Dishonesty, duplicity and fraud

God be with me in this place.

Convenience and appearances are more important than truth;
Personal comfort turns a blind eye . to injustice, compassion, corruption and man's inhumanity to man.

God be with me in this place.

As a fire that never goes out
lies destroy the soul My heart aches to hear the truth
a simple "yes" or "no" would do

God be with me in this place.

Ever on the journey to truth
yet never arriving Lacking nothing
yet never satisfied Knowing God
yet longing to be one with Him

God be with me in this place.

I speak truth but deception comes from my mouth
I'm at war with myself my God and the world

God lead me from this place.

Psalm 120 - Paraphrased by Margaret Dewse & Andrew Norton

OUTSIGHT IN - Our Iceberg Is Melting

This is a great little book by John Kotter.

Hate to say it ... but .. a must read for anyone facing change in an organization.

In this book John Kotter outlines the key principles for leading change as a colony of Penguins come to the slow realization that their Iceberg is melting.

I feel a bit like Fred.

"This iceberg is not who we are. It is only where we now live."

SEE YA SUNDAY - Going somewhere

This Sunday morning 8.30 & 10.30 am - Going somewhere Part 1 - Where I am now

Over the next weeks we will be working our way through a number of the Psalms of ascent.

These Psalms tell the story of a journey of change and transformation. But that's not the point. It's about being on the way!

This week we look at what you need to start the journey - an honest assessment of where you are now.

Bread & Wine - 9.45am - Weekly Communion

Thanks for this time to chat.

It's free but don't steal

If this is of help to others, you are welcome to forward it. This e-mail letter is 97% original - 3% cut and paste & 100% fat free. 4U is copyright to Andrew Norton. That means you can't cut and paste it and call it your own (that's stealing). I'm happy for it to be used but please refer to the author.

LAST WORD - Show me the details ...

He who would do good to another must do it in minute particles. General good is the plea of the scoundrel, hypocrite and flatterer. For Art and Science cannot exist but in minutely organized particles.
