INSIGHT OUT - Christmas is coming

I've finished our Christmas shopping and it's all wrapped!
I've even got some emergency gifts for embarrassing moments when you are given a gift you were not expecting.
And this is all before the first of December.
It's amazing how that has changed my attitude.
It's like I have an allergic reaction to Christmas.
Too much to do in too little time.
Done before Christmas!
I'm "well done" before Christmas.
But this year things will be different.
It's all wrapped up.
All I have to do now is ...
Enjoy.

O come, Thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.

OUTSIGHT IN - Semblance

All is not as it seems.
The glitter may not be gold.
When image is everything, it's no wonder that we may be the most deceived of all.
Fact and fiction have become indistinguishable.
We trade in image or appearance rather than the real thing.
Semblance is the "appearance or representation of," a stand in for the real thing.
No wonder you thought you were talking to a dummy the last time you were served and told, "have a nice day!"
Chances are, it was a dummy!
The words and the smile were there, but was it real?
When was the last time you experienced buyers regret or had an inner feeling of being let down?
When what you thought was, was not?
When you entered a relationship only to discover it was the semblance of a relationship?

So how do you distinguish between semblance and the real thing?
Sift through the unreal in your own life.
To thyself be true
Don't trust everything you see or hear.
Trust your heart.

Foolish men mistake transitory semblance for eternal fact

LAST WORD - Don't spoil what you have

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you have was once among the things only hoped for.
